Boots You Need In Your Wardrobe

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

Shoes have quickly become one of my most favorite articles of clothing. They can truly make or break an outfit, so having a versatile, yet functional, collection is an essential aspect of a well-rounded wardrobe. Recently, I have discovered a deep passion for boots, particularly white, 70's reminiscent, go-go boots. Everything from the chunky silhouette of the heel, to the shiny white finish, just really gets me going.

These shoes served as a gateway drug to (an honestly concerning) addiction to boots, that my bank account simply cannot support. In an effort to contain myself, I have limited my collection to three pairs of boots max. I can justify three different pairs (because they are all unique and perfect in their own way) due to the functionality of having various styles. For instance, I find that booties provide the perfect in-between when you want to wear heels but still want a more casual vibe. Similarly, thigh highs, while definitely more of a statement piece, can be worn at both Thanksgiving and a night out depending on the outfit.

1. The Black Bootie

I feel like this goes without saying, but a good platform or heeled bootie is a wardrobe staple. Personally, I would opt for a black option to keep this classic piece a simple and straightforward way to elevate a look.

2. The Thigh-High

Ok so, I'm admittedly using the term "thigh-high" loosely here, but any tall, statement boot really takes an outfit to the next level, in my opinion. Again, I'd opt for a neutral tone, because they do take up so much leg real estate, that they can sometimes come off as distracting or tacky if you choose a more ornate option.

3. The Fun One

This category is simultaneously my favorite and least favorite, simply because there are so many options! While definitely the least practical, fun boots can completely transform the tone of a look and make even a basic outfit seem interesting.

p.s. All boots referenced can be found on Nasty Gal (https://www.nastygal.com/)
